Catruption! #2

Catruption, View #1.
The other day, my husband and I arrived home from work and found a catruption. Obviously, there had been some sort of serious volcanic eruption during the course of the day. A side of a box volcanic mountain was chewed  blown off, with bits everywhere. Several flows of string and toy and cat surrounded the volcano.

We sighed and decided to relax a little while before cleaning up the destruction. That was probably a wise decision because about an hour later we realized that the magma chamber had refilled and another eruption looked imminent.

Intermediate magma?

However, we couldn't decide if the magma was intermediate or mafic in compositon. Must be a complex magma chamber!

Mafic magma?

  1. Just be thankful they provided no inspiration for discussing lahars.
